Better self-esteem: 4 strategies to remember your important goals:

As previously mentioned, there are many possible explanations for why we often lose track of our goals and new behaviors.

Strategy 1: Existing routines: One way of circumventing this is to have daily reminders of your goals and related behaviors. This is especially effective in the morning – preferably connected to an already automated routine such as brushing your teeth.

Strategy 2: Visible reminders: Also, it is important to locate these kinds of reminders in places where you often pass by and hence help you remind yourself in a few words of why and how you want to change.

Hence, have your goals visible in several places: on the bed lamp, on mirrors in bathroom and car, on the coffee-machine, as a phone reminder or as an alarm.

Strategy 3: Use technology: Your phone and computer are really good places to both set alarms but also use your goals as background screens.

Strategy 4: Visual symbols: Others use a visual marker such as a bracelet, so when seeing this they pause, stop and repeat their mantra of goals and related behaviors.
