Anxiety & Stress: 5 effective ways for lowering a hightened daily stresslevel

In earlier posts, I have gone through several different ways to lower the base level of stress. 5 of the most important ones that are easy to remember are:

1) Sleep as much as possible and, if possible, rest after lunch so that your body and brain get maximum time for recovery.

2) Walk and exercise to increase the body’s ability to repair and the body’s long-term stress tolerance.

3) Simplify – Identify and reduce the number of activities and sources of stress so that less stress is added.

4) Cool it – Breathe slowly and with your stomach, take breaks during the day and try to slow down the pace during: when you walk, talk, eat, etc. to reduce the wear on the body.

5) Have more fun – Try to have at least 15 minutes every day for calming activities that you also find entertaining and joyful to stimulate vitality, feed your soul and gain perspective on what you think is important in your life.
