This post “Increase your self-esteem by using your feelings” continues with how you can increase your self-esteem by getting to know yourself.
Increase your self-esteem by using your feelings:
If feelings are our compass needles, we need to take them seriously as sources of information. The purpose of your feelings is to help you focus attention and action.
Your brain will work out and carry out a plan of how to deal with the situation as adaptive as possible.
As an example: If someone knocks on your door, you will likely be interested and happy and want to open the door if you know it is a friend, but more surprised and scared, at least in the beginning, if it is a stranger, and even much more scared if the stranger carries a weapon. Then you do not want to open the door.
Try this:
Imagine you got this bouquet from a friend, a loved one or a stalker, how would that change how you feel and act… Notice what happened right now in your body as you read the last sentence.
