Anxiety & Stress: The 1st important step in handling a crisis (1-minute-read)

In these terrible Corona times I will now pause my posts on general topics and focus on ideas on how we can get through these tough times together.

The 1st step in handling a crisis is to practice techniques to calm yourself.

The most important tool for this is to take control of your breathing: Focus on breathing calmly and extend the exhalations. Repeat 10 times.

Add to this a realistic but positive mantra that you repeat to yourself as soon as you feel stress, general anxiety or worry rising.

Until you have found your own, I suggest the serenity prayer:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Which 2-3 situations do you find the most stressful with Corona?

What are the ways in which you can impact each of them?

What do you have to accept about each situation that would make your life better, less burdensome at these tough times that eventually will pass?
