This post “Increase your self-esteem by understanding anger<\/em>” continues with how you can increase your self-esteem by getting to know yourself.<\/p>\n

Increase your self-esteem by understanding your anger:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As mentioned in the last post, it is not healthy to act out anger in a frightening way: That can be traumatising to watch for both children and adults. It can also be lethal for the angry person. <\/p>\n

Research has found a connection between rage and heart attacks. Rage often precedes a heart attack and may even sometimes be the trigger, with a dangerous period of up to 2 hours after an outburst.<\/p>\n

The urge to act out anger is less needed when we are adults since we from the mid-twenties have the mental capacity, not necessarily the ability – that has to be developed – to moderate feelings. <\/p>\n

Hearing the emotion in itself, as in the exercise in the last post, moderates its intensity.<\/p>\n

It is also important to understand why we have the feeling.<\/p>\n

Next time you feel anger, ask yourself if you are proportionately angry or if it is a defense mechanism for hurt or fear?<\/p>\n
