Increase your self-esteem by exposing yourself to your fears (1 minute read)
This post “Increase your self-esteem by exposing yourself to your fears” is about how you can increase your self-esteem by understanding your feelings.
Increase your self-esteem by exposing yourself to your fears:
Here, the post continues with how to make an actual imaginative exposure to manage fear. If you feel fragile or have been traumatized, it is better that you do exposure exercises together with an experienced licensed therapist.
Visualise in your mind the worst possible scenario.
Imagine in details how it feels to be in the situation: what you and others around you think, feel, say and do.
Keep asking yourself what is the worst with experiencing this while visualizing, breathing calmly and being relaxed.
Continue until you have visualized all of your imagined worst-case scenarios as they come to mind.
You will likely realize that the worst case, even if hypothetically terrible, did not create the kind of reactions you feared, but instead was manageable and that the fear loosened its grip of you.
Recall that if your level of discomfort is 8 or higher, use the stress management techniques posted earlier.
More about fear and how to conquer it in upcoming post.
