Mirroring is when for example an emotion, mood, thought, behavior, reaction, need or desire of a person is imitated by another person – similar to an echo. We mirror each other unconsciously when we change our posture to imitate the other person. This happens often. Like when you cross your arms after you have consciously or unconsciously seen the other person in front of you doing it. You can also mirror someone consciously and more directly by commenting on what happens: “You look sad.”  

Try this:

Test mirroring by changing posture and see if you are copied.

Mirror what the other person is saying by rephrasing the content: “So your viewpoint is that…
