This post “Increase your self-esteem by listing your achievements this year” focuses on that New year’s eve is coming up.
Before diving into the possible changes you potentially would like to make to your life and new directions you would like to explore, I suggest you reflect over your achievements so far.
It is important to honour yourself for what you already have accomplished and who you have become during this last year since this will set a positive tone.
Try to find at least 20 areas.
It can be traits you have shown, goals you have reached, positive changes you have made, boundaries you have set, development of new insights, values and perspectives, people you have helped, memories and special moments you have created and things you have done well.
Focusing on what you already have achieved will make you less defensive and hence more open to feedback, change and creativity in finding out what you now would like to work on.

]]>This post Increase your self-esteem by more ways of talking back to your inner critic continues on the theme of how to increase your self-esteem and feel better during this crisis.
This post continues with more suggestions on what you can say to turn down the volume of your inner critic. It is important for mental health and a healthy self-esteem but more difficult than it seems.
Here are additional suggestions of self-supporting answers when your inner critic attacks your looks:
I’m going to talk supportive to myself – I am proud of myself and how I look.
Everyone has something they are less satisfied with. I am proud that I want to be me.
I am grateful that my body works well. That is the important thing.
Remember – It does not matter if you believe it or not – only that it is credible and kind enough to be said to somebody close to you.
This is because these alternatives signal to us that everything we say to ourselves can be changed and influenced. The inner critic is not right. It is not facts but just destructive to pick on yourself.

]]>This post Increase your self-esteem by resisting the inner critic continues on the theme: how to strengthen your self-esteem and feel better during this crisis.
This post continues with the inner critic, an inner voice that most of us have. Often we are not aware of this, but it is common to have a critical inner voice in our heads that evaluates us harshly and disproportionately.
It is very important to strengthen one’s self-esteem and resist psychological issues to be very careful about how one talks and describes oneself. You can reduce the volume of this inner voice by talking back to it.
This is one of the most important things you can learn in life. It will directly affect your well-being and your achievements!
The last post’s exercise was to write down what you hear you say to yourself. Now, write a self-reinforcing sentence. A sentence that goes against what your inner critic says for each sentence. They should be as supportive as you would suggest if you encourage a friend or a child. Suggestions on how such answers may sound come in the next post.

This post Increase your self-esteem by confronting your inner critic continues on the theme of how you can feel better during this crisis. You can do this by developing both your self-esteem and your self-confidence since they are interconnected.
The previous post was about your amazing body being a miracle, actually working and is beautiful as it is. Therefore, it is important to also confirm your appearance. If you are like most of the people I meet on a daily basis, this exercise: reading aloud to yourself your positive traits, features and what you are proud of, usually awakens various degrees of discomfort.
This post is about something very important. Something that separates people with good mental health from those with periods of unnecessary psychological despair: the presence of a stern inner critic. In order to strengthen one’s self-esteem, it is very important to be very careful about how you talk to yourself and describe yourself. Often, we are not aware of this.
Once again, read your list of your beautiful features, positive traits and what you are proud of. If you hear an inner negative voice, write down literally what you hear.

]]>This post Increase your self-esteem by proudly confirming your appearance continues on the theme how you can feel better during this crisis. You can do this by developing both your self-esteem and your self-confidence as these are interconnected.
It is important to cherish the normal body, what we already have. This is especially important in these times with an exaggerated focus on appearance. Even more important in recent years as the ideals seem to be getting increasingly narrower. Cherish that your amazing body actually works and try to view it as beautiful as it is.
For these reasons, it is important to expand the exercise of the last posts: Validate your positive traits and what you are proud of. Include a focus on your appearance. We all have nice features and things that are great with the way we look. Instead of focusing on what we do not have, it is important to appreciate what we have. No one has by nature gotten everything, though many pretend and distort reality.
Try to find at least 10 nice things with your appearance and also read these daily aloud to yourself.
If it is difficult, ask someone close to you for help to identify your 10 beautiful features. I will make suggestions tomorrow.

This post 3 steps to increase your self-esteem already today continues with how you can feel better during this crisis.
You can do this by developing both your self-esteem and your self-confidence since they are interconnected.
The last posts have been about how you can start today by becoming more aware of your positive traits and what you are proud of. You can do this using these 3 steps:
1: Remind yourself every morning of your positive traits and what you are proud of.
2: Praise yourself during the day about how events that happen are related to your positive traits and what you are proud of.
3: In the evening, reflect over, write down and validate today’s positive events and link them to your positive traits.
Do these 3 steps every day until:
– You know your positive traits and what you are proud of by heart
AND
– The exercise makes you naturally proud
AND
– The exercise no longer causes discomfort.

This post Increase your self-esteem by validating today’s positive events continues on the theme of how you can feel better during this crisis. You can do this by developing both your self-esteem and your self-confidence since they are interconnected.
Start today by reminding yourself of your positive traits and what you are proud of. You can do this daily in 3 steps. This post is about the third step: Validate today’s positive events.
It is very important that you remind yourself of your positive traits and what you are proud of in the evening by validating today’s positive events.
Step 3: As you summarize the day in the evening, make sure to give yourself credit and praise for things that have gone better than expected. Even small things. Also connect the event to your positive traits. Try to find 3 events:
“So good that I still managed to take time for a walk. Although it was not as long as I planned. So good that I use my flexibility and responsibility even towards myself and my health.”
Also, be sure to note things that went well during the day on your pride-list. Write indicate which of your positive traits you used.
